I have always enjoyed the process of making a vision board. In fact, I’ve probably made a vision board for the past 18 years. Sometimes I even make more than one for a year, like post-divorce or summer etc. A vision board combines many of my favorite things: dreaming of the future, positivity, artist expression, color, images, and words. It also allows me to collaborate with my friends, as we often create vision boards together.
Vision boards are collage of visual images and words that represent the life you want to live. It is a tangible representation of the vision you have for yourself and your future. Vision board-making is one of the most powerful tools for utilizing the law of attraction. It’s more than cutting out pretty pictures from magazines and gluing them down, hoping to attract what you desire. A vision board helps you invest time and energy to visualize your future, and each time you look at it, it reminds you of your life goals or (for me) the next year’s goals.
To make your own vision board, first identify your wishes and/or desires. Then select images, colors and words that represent those wishes. This simple selection process narrows down your focus and personalizes your board with specifics that matter to you. The next thing you do is plan your layout and glue all the pieces down. Every board is unique and special. Treat it as if it is sacred – a gift you have given yourself.
Once you have clarified your vision and made your vision board, you need to look at it and feel its energy often. Trust that the universe will provide you with the opportunities you need to make your dreams happen. Your vision board does not need to be perfect and can be a work in progress, just as our lives and dreams are. Have fun, be open, create and please share your boards.
My vision board has helped me focus on my writing, journey and growth as the Suburban Goddess Mom.
